I’m currently testing the new chromium version for unstable.
I tried to remove embedded code copies, and I’m pleased with the result.
Ubuntu i386 binary:
-rwxr-xr-x root/root 35804728 2010-05-05 12:01 ./usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser
Debian i386 binary:
-rwxr-xr-x root/root 20693336 2010-05-09 21:33 ./usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser
The latest blocker for an upload in unstable is a minor bug in libv8, but Antonio Radici should upload a fixed version this evening

Sto provando da qualche giorno il pacchetto e funziona molto bene.
Ora aspetto che vada in unstable cos’ si aggiorna automaticamente.
Good work!
I am trying Chromium-browser from Debian experimental and I like it.
When I clicked on the RSS link from the English feed, I landed on the Italian version. Please fix that.
Other than that: Thanks. I got Chromium from experimental recently and it seems to work fine.
The rss link is http://www.iuculano.it/en/linux/chromium-pronto-per-unstable/
Do you land on the Italian version with that link?
This is good news that Debian is adding Chromium to it’s package system. I’ve been using the Ubuntu source and it’s pretty up-to-date in terms of release version.
Will you be keeping pace with Ubuntu’s version? I’ m asking because when I looked on the weekend, the version of Chromium in Experimental was old; still the 5.0 version and Chromium is on the 6.x in trunk! If you respond please cc my e-mail or respond on Twitter (which is where I saw the original message).
Cheers,
Steve
